Accessability - connect, belong, achieve

Supporting ability. Providing opportunities. Realising life goals.

Having a break

It is important for anyone caring for a family member with a disability to have regular breaks from that role. Just as important, is for those with the disability to have a break from their routine.

accessability offers a wide range of activities, services, and supports designed to provide respite for carers, while also providing a positive experience for your family member who has a disability.

Supports may be formal or informal, and can be provided in the home or out of the home.  We aim for your family to retain the role of primary care-giver throughout.  The break provides a stimulating experience for the individual as well as strengthening the capacity of the care-givers.

In-home respite

We can provide one on one support in your own home for a set period of time, allowing your family to take a break.  As with all of our services, we tailor the support to meet your individual needs and specific family circumstances. This support can include the opportunity to engage in some activities and get out and about in the community.

Out of home respite

We can offer the option of taking you outside your home and into a host family environment or one of accessability’s own respite units while offering one on one support.  As well as giving your family a break you have opportunities to engage with different people and some different activities.

We enable people with a disability, their families and carers to access the support they need to live the life they choose.
